Our menu features authentic Sicilian family recipes. As a 13-year-old, business-owner Carlo
DiLeonardo came to the United States with his family from Sicily. Several of the recipes are
straight from DiLeonardo's wife Maddalena DiLeonardo's kitchen. Some items are named after
their seven grandchildren.

In 1976, Carlo DiLeonardo opened the first Peppino's Pizzeria in Standale with a partner, Joe
Adelfio. In the mid-'80s, the partnership dissolved, and DiLeonardo became sole owner. A
second pizzeria was opened in Allendale in 1980 to serve the growing population of students at
Grand Valley State University. Expansion continued, and there are now seven Peppino's
take-out pizza resturants in West Michigan. Some are owned by relatives and others franchised.

DiLeonardo's son, Joe DiLeonardo, has become a key player in the family business and owns
the franchise side of the company. "We're pretty much a team; it's a family affair," the younger
DiLeonardo said. His wife, two sisters and brother are involved in the business.
